How Long Should a Product Be Used Before Seeing Results?

Wouldn't it be great to use a product one time and instantly see results? Although we would all love that, most products take time to work. While a cleanser or face mask may show immediate results, though temporary, products like eye cream, facial serums, moisturizers, or other anti-aging products should take about 28 days.

Why 28 days, you ask? That's how long it takes your skin to go through its regeneration process and start to show signs of change and improvement. Of course, it depends on the type of product you are using, but it's a good rule of thumb. One complete cycle provides the amount of time it takes for new skin cells to appear, mature, die, and shed.

So, if you're looking for long-term results, you should give a product at least four weeks before deciding whether or not it's working for you. And if you do not see the results you want, don't give up! Instead, be patient and keep using the product as directed. Keep in mind products that contain retinoids, peptides, or growth factors can take double the time, if not longer, about three to four months. But, with a little bit of time and effort, and patience, you'll see the results you're looking for.

However, there's no need to give a product a try for 28 days if it clearly doesn't work for your skin the first time around. If you feel a string or notice it's causing redness that lasts more than a minute or two, it is likely too irritating for your skin.

If that's not the case, just be patient, and the results will come.
